How to reduce stress? Part One (Understanding stress: Causes of stress)

Stress is a part of growing up. Stress is an abstract noun because we do not share the same level of stress and we also respond to stress in a very colorful manner. Stress can either destroy us or build us. Now let us look at the basic understanding of the word STRESS.

Pressure is another word for stress. In other words, stress is a collection of worries, isolation, sadness, disappointment, anger and confusion.

There are two main causes of stress ; the first one is natural stress and the second one is MAN-MADE STRESS. The first one is important because it helps us to find solutions as stress can be driven by our own sense of perfectionism.

The second one is destructive and dangerous because we have the power to reduce stress to the maximum as we are given the options in the first place to reduce the expected destruction.

My message is very simple. The main cause of the second type of stress is PROCRASTINATION. Let us play with these few examples.

1. Financial Problems (credit card)
We have used it, we continuously use it to the maximum when we have the chance to pay the small amounts when we have the money. However, we have spent the money on unnecessary things. I will let your imagination run wild on that subject.

2. Marital problems
Both parties refuse to talk about their   dissatisfaction through their years of marriage. They could have improved their marriage but because of their too much ego, they let procrastination play the role.

3. Students (Homework/assignments)
Without timetable, pile of work will become mountains of work. Students have made procrastination a permanent habit. Doing it later means you have to burn the midnight oil to complete all of the assignments. Students are not taught about the importance of priorities.

4. Bachelor/bachelorette
When you have the chance to marry someone who is not as perfect as you wish, you turn him or her down. You claim that you are still too young and you have millions of options to choose from. At the end of the day, when you have become too old to be productive enough to produce the next generations, regret is something that will follow you for the rest of your life. Perfectionism is the worst solution for any lonely souls out there.
